Designed this in the first month when i joined Penguin. "It's too Avant-Garde" said one of the editors but i managed to get it past them. The author loved it.
chandan i like the stunning use of the reversal of the photograph but thought that your mondrian fetish has let you down this time.without the panel it would have been starker. also there was no need of the inverted sign. it is in the face of the reader.also the typo is a bit too ordered.in my opinion it does not capture the essense of the angst that the book conveys. a hand written font would have been great. otherwise i do appreciate the use of photo it has a fresh approach. you are right! if this is avant garde what they will make of a duchamps!! he he your guess is as good as mine.

really really nice! the reversal comes like a slap on the face (meant in a very good way) :D
